The Green PET Recycling plant establishment began in 2019. The plant was founded in partnership, with an investment of dozens of millions of shekels, by three partners: Zohar Levy, who serves as the CEO of the company, of “Blue Drinks” Ltd. and of Jafora-Tabori Ltd. The plant is situated at Kidmat Galil Industrial Zone, and started manufacturing in 2020.
The Company focuses on recycling two types of common polymers, PET and PE, with separate recycling for linear low density PE (LLDPE) and high-density PE (HDPE).
Sources of feed
The Company sources all feed materials from local waste, which eliminates the need for importing waste from abroad. The sources are varied and include industrial waste, local authorities, transit stations, landfills and recycling corporations. One of the Company’s major advantages is its waste collection operations. This activity ensures regular feed sources of plastic waste for the plant.
THE PLANT’S PROCESSING CAPABILITIES REACH ABOUT 3,000 TONS OF WASTE PER MONTH – AN OUTPUT SUITABLE FOR RECYCLING 50% OF PET WASTE IN ISRAEL, AS WELL AS POLYOLEFIN WASTE. 75% OF THE MATERIAL PRODUCED IS INTENDED FOR ISRAELI INDUSTRY AND 25% IS EXPORTED ABROAD.
Recycling equipment
The Company uses state-of-the-art recycling equipment, which ensures high-quality recycled, reliable and reproducible raw materials. These raw materials are highly versatile and can be used for a wide range of applications.
The recycling of low-density polyolefin, LLDPE, is performed in the production line by EREMA Ltd., an Austrian company that is a world leader in the field. The incoming waste is sorted, shredded, and washed. Afterwards, it goes through a re-granulation and properties upgrade process to produce high-quality raw material.
The PET recycling is performed on a new production line by Austrian STARLINGER Ltd., whose technological recycling of PET is the best in the world. Recycling is performed using the Solid-State Polymerization (SSP) method. This technology re-granulates the shredded PET flakes. The final product has the American FDA and European EFSA approvals for direct contact with food products. The process enables good control over the material’s quality, viscosity and final re-evaluation. The recycled raw material is equal in value and properties to virgin raw material.
The Company’s Products:
The Company’s products adhere to strict quality control standards, and are subject to quality control inspections during and after the production stage. The products are suitable for various processing methods, such as extrusion, injection and blow molding. They are produced in a variety of shades: transparent, light blue, dark blue, green, brown, and several other unique colors.
Among our products:
- Shredded PET and HDPE flakes 8-12 mm in size, that are strictly sorted, rinsed and dried.
- PET granules with food contact approval.
- Granulated LLDPE
The products are used in a wide range of industries: fibre manufacture for the textile industry, extrusion processes for films in various thickness levels for packaging applications, stretch films and bags, as well as various injection products.
